I am having trouble installing the update. I downloaded it, unpacked the zip file & clicked on the patch exe. There was some activity & a message saying the program was updated & ready to use. However, when I opened the program it was still the old version. I tried re-installing & the same thing happened. I am using Media Encoder as part of Production Studio Premium CS5.5.

Try installing the update using the automatic method—i.e., choosing Help > Updates.

Hi Todd
Already tried that – it tells me that all my applications are up to date! But Media Encoder is deffinately showing version 5.5.0.212. I’ve noticed a few forums where the update is said to be not available through automatic update – it has to be manually downloaded.

That is old information. Follow the link in my original post for current information.
I’ll see what I can find out regarding the failure of the updater to successfully install the update in your case.

Hi Todd
Did you have any further information why I cannot install the update? I still get the message that all my applications are up to date.

No, I don’t know why the update won’t install for you.
