I have successfully used many of the chrome library and
followed through examples such as the Opel Signum by Karl Sigiscar
However I have been unable to get the “Load motions” with the
“Play animations” to work even after taking advice from various
books such as “Shockwave 3D” by Jason Wolf , “3D for the Web” by C
Macgillivray and Anthony Head and “Director 8.5 Shockwave Studio
for 3D” by exporting animation only w3ds etc..
I have managed to use the ordinary “play animation” from the
non “Chrome Lib” with a mouse trigger to get various models to
display their animations on click but only after exporting the file
complete with all the animations.
Not sure where I am going wrong!! is there something I need
to look out for or am I missing a step.
Would be grateful for help, I tried www.chromelib.com but its
no longer there.
you can do it with 3dpi and the clonemotion button|||
Thanks I will try that, much obliged|||
3dpi changes are temporary could you please explain/elucidate
a bit more
You can save your w3d from 3dpi with version 5 (button under
the member tab), might be only in director 11.
If I recall you could save w3d files in director 2004 too,
only they weren’t compressed and as a result they were a lot
Apart from 3dpi, Alex da Franca has a free tool to save w3ds.
download it from
I would like to reiterate the prob:
I have been unable to get the “Load motions” with the “Play
animations” to work
I thought that Chrome behaviors came out before Director 11,
my version is MX2004 v 10.1 and 3DPI version 4.5 ..I was hoping to
be able to utilise the main behaviors.
I would appreciate any further guidance
there is a trace button on 3dpi that puts the code in the
message window. just copy the code from the message window to the
timeline or the object and you have your code. the trace button is
a square in the upper right corner. if you put your mouse on it. it
will say trace
Thank you very much tyree_2 for your patience and
