I’m trying to work out how to create animated liquid layouts.
Like the site with 100% width and 100% height. So that the content
positions itself centered, left and right. But with smooth animated
effects. I have found some tutorials which show how to create the
first part. But i,m having problems finding one that will show me
how to create this effect.

Any pointers to tutorials welcomed with open arms ;-)

Just in case I didn’t explain myself here is the basic idea

Thanks|||
that’s not going to be much different than a non-animated
resize. instead of setting your objects’ positions (and possibly
their sizes) when the stage detects an onResize event, start a loop
that gradually sets their positions (and possibly their
sizes).|||
I understand what your saying but Im not a Action scripter
more into the deisign side. Do you know of any sites with tutorials
I can see a working demo? Thanks for the reply still.|||
i don’t know any tutorials but if you show some code that
resizes, i’ll show you how to add animation to that code.|||
Thanks very much. Here is a link to the code or see below.

Hello Kglad,

I’ve been working on that same tutorial from the Tutorio site
for a few days now and i’ve used your code sample from above. But
for some reason my content is not loading in the center. I’ve made
sure that all my movie_clips has a TL registration point.

I saw in the Tutorio tut that the stage size was fairly
small, but I figure stage demensions doesn’t matter since you
positioning everything using AS.

Here’s what I have

I’m using AS2, my stage size is 950×700

I have two movie clips one is my footer Nav (foot_navMC) size
is 950×20

and the second is my main content (main_MC) size is 925×500

not sure if the size of my clips having something to do with
it but they are not loading in the center. they are loading way off
to the right of my flash movie.

here’s an example of what I’m trying to do
