Hi
I’m thinking about upgrading from MX to Dreamweaver 8.
Looking at macromedias website it cost:
239 Euro = 1783,73 Dkr
or
199 $ = 1219,47 Dkr
That’s A BIG difference. Of course I rather buy from the US.
Does anybody
know why the prices are SO different? Are there a hidden tax
or……??

No, there is no tax on imported software in the EU (apart
from VAT).
When questioned about the price difference in the UK for
Photoshop,
Adobe explained that prices are fixed in local currency, and
the
“customer would be harmed” if the exchange rate went swung
the opposite
way. However, the price difference is so big, the pound
and/or euro
would have to drop by an almost catastrophic level before
Europeans
ended up paying more than in America.

Unfortunately, Adobe also has a policy that prevents US mail
order
companies from fulfilling orders received from outside the
US.

Hmmm, thanks for the explanation. Not really the answer I’d
hoped for…..
of course.
Spending more money than the americans seems unfair to me *s*

Just a big rip off. Buy shares in Adobe – then you can get
your money back – when and if the mighty dollar ever gets off its
knees.|||

I wish Mrs. Kroes did something about it now that she settled
things with
