We purchased CF 8 standard and thought we met the sever
requirements for ColdFusion 8 via RedHat AS & ES 3 or 4. Only
when we went to install it did we notice that the Web Server
support for ColdFusion 8 on Unix/Linux is listed as Apache 2.0.43
or Apache 2.2. We run cPanel production servers that do not support
Apache 2, only 1.3.36 and 1.3.37. cPanel indicates Apache 2.0
support is a long ways off for their stable and release versions.

Does any one know if ColdFusion 8 will run with Apache 1.3.36
or 1.3.37

JRun as bundled with ColdFusion 8 still includes mod_jrun.so
precompiled for a number of platforms, although you may have to
configure Apache manually. The module source code is included as
well, so you can compile for your platform, if necessary. The
precompiled modules and the source code are in wsconfig.jar
(connectors/apache/ and connectors/src/, respectively).
